The U.S. Supreme Court issued a split ruling in United States. v. Texas, which will in effect block President Obama’s Deferred Action for Parents of Americans and Lawful Permanent Residents (DAPA) and expanded Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA+) programs. Dashing the hopes and aspirations of over 5 million undocumented immigrants that were eligible for these programs, the 4-4 ruling means that an injunction, first issued by a federal court in Texas, will continue.
