Queer at School on #FindingMe – 10/12/2016
Queer folk often have poor educational outcomes. A key reason this is the case is because their schools are not safe or affirming places where they can learn.

Coming out is one of the hardest (and most courageous) things a queer person can do. Tonight on Finding Me, we will be talking about coming out, sharing our own stories, and listening to yours. We will also be answering questions submitted online.
We are continuing our discussion of transgender identity this week on Finding Me, focusing this time on trans man identity, role models, and toxic identity. We will also have Jey Vogt of the FM Brotherhood on the show to talk about his journey and the resources available to MFT Transgender folk in Fargo Moorhead.
This week we continue our coverage of Sacred Stone Camp (#noDAPL) and combine those voices with those of 2Spirit artists, Voices of Thunder. Mary Black and Gabriel Guiboche (Voices of Thunder) are members of the Ojibwe Nation in Manitoba, and they use their music to educate others about native culture and current issues.
This week on Finding Me we will be discussing the intersections between Native and Queer voices. Our discussion will focus on the DAPL Resistance at Sacred Stone Camp and the experience of Native Americans in the first hour and Native Queer journeys in the second hour.
