Finding Me airs Wednesday’s at 5pm CST
On Finding Me, Nemo is interested in your stories and your voices and you will hear his life and academic intersectional perspective of the queer identity. Nemo applies his knowledge to nerd topics in queer media, fandom and expression. This is also space for your voice, for your questions, for your art, for your fears. And we hope in this monthly program, together, you will find the strength and courage to find the me who lives inside you. Nemo looks forward to having this journey with you. Interact when the show airs by tweeting with #FindingMe at @NemoPotatoes or @Media_PPP, commenting on Facebook or at Nemo’s public page. I wanted to connect the need for representation to children’s targeted media, specifically animation which is something I have a niche interest in, especially if the show reaches a wider audience beyond it’s target.
We are going to start out with an interview and finish off with some healing harmonies – LGBT musicians that I like that I’ve felt some healing growing up queer or didn’t realize I was queer until I experienced a lot of their music by association.
In this month’s program, we’re gonna talk about music — specifically how musicians create music that tells about themselves, how queer folks have identified with the music and helps shapes us together as an audience.
In this months’ program, I’ll be interviewing a special guest, writer and Editor-in-Chief of the online publication Queer Black Millennial, Da’Shaun Harrison.
This evening I’ll tell you my process of coming out in the stages I did. Please pay attention to my story as it may explain the feelings your children may have if you suspect that they are in the closet and the transition of coming out to be themselves.
